Water at Interfaces

Water is a unique solvent with strong, yet highly dynamic, intermolecular interactions. At the MPIP we study water at the molecular, the mesoscopic and the macroscopic level. At the molecular level, we are particularly interested in interfacial water. These questions are addressed: how do water molecules interact with, and react at solid surfaces and how do they evaporate.
