Information Retrieval Services
The Max Planck Society supports two scientific information retrieval services (IVS), one for the fields of biology and medicine (IVS-BM in Martinsried) and another one for the fields of chemistry, physics, and technology (IVS-CPT in Stuttgart).The main topic of both offices is research evaluation. Also Max Planck employees are trained with brochures and webinars to use standard literature databases on their own. The IVS offers support in the use of reference management systems, assistance in the search for information and Online trainings to Web of Science, SciFinder, Scopus and EndNote.

MPDL
The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) in Munich is a central unit of the Max Planck Society that supports scientists from all Max Planck Institutes in the fields of information provision, publication support and research data management. The MPDL is one of Europe's largest purchasers of scientific information for more than 10 years now. It arranges Max Planck wide access to a wide range of scientific journals, eBooks, specialist databases and extensive open access publication services.
