Frederik Wurm was born in Wiesbaden in 1981 and studied chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz and the University of Toronto. He completed his PhD in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Holger Frey working on nonlinear block copolymers. From 2009 to 2011 he was a postdoctoral Humboldt fellow at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in the group of Prof. Harm-Anton Klok focusing on novel bioconjugation strategies. In November 2011 he joined the MPI-P as a group leader in the department of Prof. Katharina Landfester. He is also junior faculty of the Max Planck Graduate Center (MPGC). His research interest range from protein-polymer conjugates, over biodegradable polymers to electroactive materials via various polymerization techniques.
