Chemical Modification of Surface and Interfaces

The properties of the surface and interfaces depend on the immobilized molecules on them (e.g. wetting, adhesion of biological molecule etc.).
The objective of our research is developing the chemical modification protocol to functionalize the surface and interfaces, and characterize these surfaces using advanced instrumental analyses.
The surface provides the access to the immobilized functional molecule. Therefore, we can read out the environmental condition through the change in the properties of the immobilized molecule.
In addition, we can control the surface properties through the electrochemical activation of the functional molecule. These technologies are of importance to make the practical devices, such as sensors or manipulators etc.
