1findr - the easy way to find Open Access publications

The Max Planck Society signed a contract to license 1findr, an extensive collection of over 25 million academic and peer reviewed papers published Open Access via the golden or the green path. 1findr is directly integrated in MPG/SFX Services to indicate all full texts free available.

American Physical Society

Beginning January 1, 2018, APS will work with SCOAP3 to publish all papers in Physical Review Letters, Physical Review C, and Physical Review D under a CC-BY license at no costs to the authors. [more]

Open Access Publishing with Taylor & Francis 2017-2019

The Max Planck Society established a new agreement with Taylor & Francis which includes access to almost 300 Taylor & Francis journals as well as allowing authors to publish open access in about 2000 Taylor & Francis journals. [more]

RSC Read & Publish agreement for 2017-2018

The Max Planck Digital Library and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) have signed an agreement which allows Max Planck researchers to publish their papers open access in RSC journals, which offer a CC-BY license, and access to RSC subscription based journals. The RSC "Read & Publish" agreement combines reading and open access publishing in one payment scheme. [more]

Special Library Events 2019:
"How to find the appropriate literature" - Presentation given by Robin Haunschild and Thomas Scheidsteger on Tuesday, 19th February 2019 at 2.00 p.m. at the Staudinger Lecture Hall.
Robin and Thomas are working as research specialists for the Max Planck Scientific Information Retrieval Services (IVS-CPT) in Stuttgart. Their main topics are research evaluation using newest methods and indicators as well as acquisition and evaluation of scientific information, such as publication and citation analyses, patent searches, statistics, overviews, etc.
They will introduce literature databases like WoS, Scopus, Dimensions, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic and SciFinder and define their specifics, their advantages and disadvantages. Literature search in databases like WoS and Scopus will be explained with examples of use and focus on the topical research. Additionally they will introduce SciFinder more detailed and present examples for comprehensive search.
