Polymer Research: Basic Science for Future Challenges
June 15 and 16, 2009

The Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P) was formally established on the
campus of the Johannes Gutenberg University in 1983. The first part of the Institute's permanent building on Ackermannweg on the edge of the University campus was completed in 1988. It is one of the world-wide leading
research centers in polymer science. With its focus on soft matter and macromolecular
materials the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research is unique in its field of research.
The MPI for Polymer Research officially started its scientific work in 1984.
We celebrate our 25th anniversary with a scientific meeting on June 15 and 16, 2009.
