Dr. Christopher Synatschke
Christopher studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth and graduated as "Diplom Chemiker" in 2009. He then pursued his PhD in the group of Prof. Axel H. E. Müller, also at the University of Bayreuth, working on multicompartment micelles from triblock terpolymers and star-shaped polyelectrolytes. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, he had the opportunity to join the University of New South Wales (Prof. Christopher Barner-Kowollik), Australia, and the University of Tokyo (Prof. Kazunori Kataoka), Japan, as a visiting researcher. After completing his PhD in 2013, he joined the group of Prof. Samuel I. Stupp as a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University, Chicago. There, he developed self-assembled soft hybrid materials for applications in regenerative medicine and as anisotropic actuators. In 2017, Dr. Synatschke joined the group of Prof. Tanja Weil as a postdoctoral fellow studying the self-assembly of polymer materials and their potential in biomedical applications.
