My work at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research as PhD student started in May 2009.

My research involves the use of computer simulation techniques to investigate charge transport in organic materials. Within this framework i currently concentrate especially on the mechanisms of proton transport in polymer membranes, which is crucial for the optimization of fuel cell technology.

I graduated in Physics from the University of Mainz with a diploma thesis in the work group of Prof. Dr. Kurt Binder, where I studied phase transition and nucleation phenomena employing Monte Carlo simulations.
