AK Butt - Physics of Polymers

MPIP - Mainz

In our group we are currently working on a number of different projects:

1) Flows of liquids at the microscopic and at the nanoscopic scale, investigated by the Colloidal Probe Technique and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy

    Principal invesitgators: Tiago Rodrigues

2) Evaporation dynamics of microscopic drops from solid surfaces, investigated by measuring the vibration and the bending of thin silicon cantilevers

    Principal invesitgators: Chuanjun Liu

3) Microscopic drops on deformable surfaces

    Principal invesitgators: Daniela Fell

4) Evaporation of sessile drops of binary mixtures

    Principal invesitgators: Chuanjun Liu

5) Micro- and nanostructuring of polymer surfaces with solvents by using e.g. ink-jet devices, plasma reactors, nanoindentation and nanolithography techniques, etc.

    Principal invesitgators: Chuanjun Liu

6) Electromechanical properties of conducting core-shell polymer particles and of thin conducting polymer films

    Principal invesitgators: Ling Sun

7) Mechanical properties of biological and polymeric specimen, investigated by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)

    Principal invesitgator: Rabea Keller

8) Organisaton of liquid crystal layers (5CB) on a graphite surface, investigated by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)

    Principal invesitgator:
