| Max Planck-Institute for Polymer Research Doktorandenstelle Nano-optik Es sollen nanoskopisch definierte Strukturen durch geeignete Moleküle aufgebaut und mit Metallobjekten dekoriert werden. Die Gesamtstruktur soll auf ihre optischen Resonanzen hin experimentell untersucht und modelliert werden, wobei insbesondere die gezielte Platzierung von Farbstoffen eingsetzt werden soll. Die Probenherstellung geschieht in einer interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit mit den chemisch ausgerichteten Kollegen am Institut. Messapparaturen stehen zur Verfügung, müssen aber den jeweiligen experimentellen Fragestellungen angepasst werden. PhD Position in Nano-optics The goal of your work would be the preparation of truly nanoscopic structures from metal objects and molecular assemblies that provide form and function and their thorough characterisation by state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques. A background in Physics or Physical Chemistry provides the experimental and theoretical qualification to get started. PhD students are usually paid a german BAT 2a /2 salary (net income roughly 1000 € ) which is limited in time to 2.5 years.
