Welcome!




After finishing highschool Alexander Lotz completed military service as corporal and started studying chemistry at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. Finishing his undergraduate studies he went to the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz to pursue his graduate studies in chemistry. There he made his first experiences with teaching and research as a student assistant, while supervising students in the lab and making his first contribution to a publication. Writing his diploma thesis on biofunctionalization of medical implant surfaces at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz he now is a PhD student in the Plasma Group of Dr. Renate Foerch working on two EU projects with focus on antimicrobial surfaces.
