Chondroitin sulfate A (CSA) is a sugar involved in a plethora of biological processes and pathologies. Here, Greicius and coworkers tackled the complexity of this biopolymer, by developing a model of it for coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations, based on widely-used biomolecular force-field Martini 3. This model opens the door for predictive modeling of CSA and potentially other chondroitin sulfates as well as gives clues for computer simulations of highly-charged biopolymer systems.
