Hybrid biomaterials

Controlled fabrication of protein suprastructures guided by oligonucleotides

We aim at establishing polymer origami creating structures of high definition with distinct architectures of varying sizes and shapes that could ultimately allow fabricating patterned polymers with low nanometer resolution and open access to unique DNA-based functional hybrid materials.

Oligonucleotides in DNA origami serve as the epitome of absolute shape control and precision where we have shown that macromolecules can be imprinted or grafted from in every possible permutation on the shape persistent platform.
