Prof. Masao Doi, who received a Senior Humboldt Research Award last fall, is staying in the Theory Group of the MPI-P from January 13 to April 11, 2015. He has been working on many problems in soft matter science, including fields like rheology, material transport, dynamics of structural formation. Masao Doi is internationally renowned for his many seminal contributions. He has received numerous awards, among them the APS Polymer Physics Prize and the Purple Ribbon Medal of Japan. His recent research interests include drying (kinetics and structural changes), fluid flow on surfaces (wetting, contact line motion), and charge transport in heterogeneous systems.
