The Physical Chemistry Department at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research is looking for a highly motivated and creative

Ph.D. student

for a project on electron microscopy of biological systems. The successful candidate should have a master degree in chemistry, physics or biology (or equivalent), good communication skills and he/she should like to work in a highly interdisciplinary team with state of the art equipment. His/her research will cover a wide field from the development of new preparation techniques for biological systems, establishing correlative microscopy methods to machine learning image analysis. Of advantage is a solid experience in electron microscopy or programming knowledge. Fluent English is required. The work will be supervised by Prof. Katharina Landfester and Dr. Ingo Lieberwirth.
