Banu Iyisan studied chemical engineering at Istanbul Technical University (Turkey) where she worked also as a research/teaching assistant before she moved to Germany for her PhD study. She received her PhD on the topic of multifunctional polymersomes from Dresden Technical University after working with Prof. Brigitte Voit at the Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research in 2016. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Katharina Landfester at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz. Her present research focuses on the development of upconversion nanocapsules through miniemulsion approaches for biosensing applications.
