For a sunny future
Installation of Organic Photovoltaics at Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research
Since August 1st, we are operating a photovoltaic system based on organic semiconductors at the Institute. This not only contributes to power generation, but also serves as a demonstrator, as photovoltaics with new materials is a central research topic of the institute in the of Department Paul Blom.
Even though compared to inorganic materials, the performance is significantly lower per area (peak output of 1 kW), it has the advantage that it can be easily attached to vertical or curved surfaces by simply sticking it on as you can also see in our case.
The installation of the 16 modules, which was carried out by our in-house technicians, sets an example for the vision of a sustainable future, also with regard to the MPI-P's research.
