Protein Therapeutics

Welcome to the homepage of the Protein Therapeutics Group!
My team, comprising mainly chemists, is a part of the Department of Synthesis of Macromolecules at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany. Our research is inspired by biomolecular processes that occur in the complex environment in living systems and biomacromolecular architectures which give rise to distinct functions in Nature. Specifically, we seek to derive innovative synthetic strategiess by merging molecular biology and chemistry to create structurally complex and stimuli-responsive multicomponent proteins that address both the cellular and physicochemical space of the TME. We are particularly interested in biopolymers with catalytic functions to achieve a sustainable effect in the TME.
