Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Maria Martinez Negro studied chemistry at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) and got her degree in September 2012. She did her PhD in the group of Prof. Dr. Elena Junquera and Prof. Dr. Emilio Aicart from September 2013 to June 2017 about new strategies on DNA/RNA compaction and transfection in gene therapy by the use of liposomes, ciclodetxtrins and nanoparticles. She continued one year in the same group as postdoctoral researcher. Since October 2018 she is working at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Mainz, Germany). The main focus of her research is the study of the interaction of blood plasma proteins with nanomaterials by the use of techniques as isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D).
