Our Values

In line with the fundamental principles of the Max Planck Society, the MPI-P aims to attract outstanding talent from around the world and offer them the best possible environment in which to realize their scientific projects. We are convinced that excellent international research flourishes particularly where openness, exchange, and cooperative collaboration are actively practiced. A prerequisite for this approach is that researchers feel equally accepted and welcome at the MPI-P, regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, skin color, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or cultural or social background. It is also important to us to provide comprehensive support to all employees in their individual professional development and family matters.
These values are also reflected in the organizational structure of the MPI-P. The aim is to keep existing hierarchies as flat as possible and to give all employees and guests fair and equal access to resources and services. In addition, we are committed to an equal opportunity work environment that promotes family-friendly structures in particular.
The guiding principle of open communication and mutual responsibility forms the basis for ensuring that all MPI-P employees are informed about expectations, support services, and available resources in key areas, including:
