The institute with six research groups under the leadership of six directors is one of the internationally leading research centres in the field of polymer science.
At the MPI-P, new soft and macromolecular materials are developed in the fields of biomedicine and electronics. Further focus points are the understanding of physical, chemical and biological phenomena at interfaces as well as the theory of polymers in order to understand their properties and interactions.
The interdisciplinary work within the institute as well as with national and international cooperation partners brings together scientists from all over the world who conduct fundamental research at the highest level.
