Biomolecular Mechanics

Biological systems "feel" their environment: Tendons are reinforced only when needed, blood coagulates only when required. Molecular sensing of stimuli, whether mechanical or chemical in nature, drives biological processes and decides on health and disease.

We are a collaborative (and fun!) group of scientists working to unravel the intricacies that govern molecular perception and to design sensing molecular systems from the ground up. We work at the interface of biophysics, chemical biology, and materials science. We use and advance molecular simulations and data-driven computational methods that inspire our wet-lab experiments and vice versa. We embrace diversity and inclusion in our daily work.
