Main Focus

Sarah's research centers on designing and synthesizing nanocarriers for lubrication applications. She employs miniemulsion techniques for synthesizing the nanocarriers and conducts chemical and mechanical characterization before assessing the performance of the nanocarriers in tribological contacts.

Curriculum Vitae

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with honors from the Technical University of Dortmund in 2019. She then pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemistry at Heidelberg University. During her master's program, she conducted research at Lund University in Sweden under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Strand. In October 2021, she joined the research group of Prof. Katharina Landfester to undertake her master's thesis, focusing on Silica Nanocapsules for enzyme reactions. Following the completion of her master's thesis, she remained at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPI-P), where she began her Ph.D. in the summer of 2022, concentrating on Nanocarriers for lubrication applications.
