Laurens Cayé
Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Main Focus
Laurens' research
focuses on the synthesis of nanoparticles as photocatalysts. Covalent organic
frameworks (COFs) are a promising class of materials for overcoming the
disadvantages of conventional photocatalysts, such as low efficiency,
unsuitable band gaps, or low stability. These can then be used in photochemical
or photobiocatalytic processes.
Curriculum Vitae
Laurens
earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in chemistry from
the University of Mainz in 2022 and 2024, respectively. For his master's
degree, he specialized in macromolecular chemistry and molecular functional
materials. For his master's thesis, he joined Professor Landfester's research
group, where he worked on self-aggregating polymeric photocatalysts. Since
November 2024, he has been a PhD candidate in Prof. Landfester's research
group.
