Philipp Föckler
Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Main Focus
For his PhD project, Philipp is interested in the membrane modulation of polymersomes as artificial cells, with the aim of enabling controlled and targeted cross-membrane transport of various cargoes, which can serve for various later applications.
In addition, as part of the InteReg project, he is working on the synthesis and functionalization of protein nanocapsules with the aim of using these for targeted cell uptake and drug release.
Curriculum Vitae
Philipp is currently a PhD candidate in the Artificial Cell Group led by Priyanka Sharan, which focuses on establishing synthetic cell-like systems.
After graduating from high school, Philipp completed his bachelor's degree in chemistry at the universities of Heidelberg and Mainz. He remained in Mainz for his master's degree, focusing on macromolecular chemistry and analytical chemistry. He conducted his master's thesis in the Artificial Cell Group in Prof. Landfester's research group, where he investigated microparticle uptake in artificial cells.
