Dr. Yungui Li

Yungui Li obtained his B.Sc. at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2012. He obtained M.Sc. in 2015 at the same university, working in a project collaborated with PSA group and Paris-Sub University.  He completed Ph.D. at TU Dresden in 2019 under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. ‪Sebastian Reineke and Prof. Dr. Karl Leo. His thesis focused on photon generation and dissipation in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). He then joined the Molecular Electronic department in Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (MPIP) as a postdoc, to study the device physics of OLEDs and optical properties of organic semiconductors.  In 2021, he started to work as a group leader in MPIP.  His research focuses on exciton dynamics of organic semiconductors and their applications in optoelectronic devices such OLEDs, organic solar cells and organic lasers.

Research Interests

The group focuses on the understanding fundamental photophysic properties of organic semiconductors, and how these properties impact the performance of optoelectronic devices.  The ultrafast exciton kinetics for organic semiconductors including radiative and non-radiative processes are investigated in the molecular level, based on transient absorption and time-resolved photoluminescence techniques. It is our aim to realize efficient and operational stable optoelectronic devices.
