Xin Yang
Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Main Focus
I would like to develop a bottom-up high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) synthesis method for nanodiamonds with specific color centers, understand the transformation mechanism, and achieve control over both the diamond structure and defect types.
Curriculum Vitae
Xin received his Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China) in 2018, followed by a PhD in High Pressure Chemistry from the Center for High Pressure Science and Technology Advanced Research (China) in 2023. His doctoral research focused on the high pressure induced polymerization of aromatic compounds.
In October 2023, he joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Tanja Weil at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research as a postdoctoral researcher. His current work focuses on the synthesis of nanodiamonds with color centers using high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) methods.
