The Carl Zeiss Foundation supports the ''Advanced Lab for Electrochemistry and Electroorganic Synthesis'' (ELYSION) of the institutes for organic and inorganic/analytical chemistry of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in collaboration with MPI-P. The aim of ELYSION is to explore the intriguing possibilities the use of electrons (electric current) as sustainable chemical reagent offers. The development of novel electrodes and electrolytic conversion routes lie at the core of the collaborative initiative.
