*** Postdoc (f/m/d) ***
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in vibrational spectroscopy, scanning probe techniques or (electrochemical) surface science to join our team to investigate the nanoscale surface-electrochemistry of model catalysts in natural water with operando tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
More information can be found here.
Please send your application as one pdf file including a letter of motivation, CV, PhD and Master transcripts, and names of at least two references to Prof. Katrin F. Domke, University of Duisburg-Essen, Faculty of Chemistry, Lehrstuhl für Physikalische Chemie II, 45141 Essen, E-Mail katrin.domke@uni-due.de, quoting the reference number 518-23.
*** PhD candidates (f/m/d) ***
We are looking for PhD candidates for the further development and application of electrochemical tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (EC-TERS).
We are looking for candidates (f/m/d) with a Master or Diploma degree in physical chemistry, physics or related subjects with interest in laser optics, spectroscopy (Raman, IR), scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM) and/or surface science who enjoy hands-on technological development.
Goals of the PhD projects include characterising and increasing the sensitivity and optical resolution of the new EC-TERS tool and to employ the technique to improve our understanding of the behaviour of individual molecules during (electro)catalytic conversion at solid/liquid interfaces to pave the way for more efficient energy-conversion schemes.
Candidates are expected to assist in the preparation and delivery of courses and with administrative duties. Within the scope of the job, opportunities for further scientific and soft-skill qualification are provided.
If these topics and tasks catch your attention and you want to join our new team at the University of Duisburg-Essen (part of the experimental work will be carried out at MPI-P/Mainz), please send a letter of motivation (max 1 page), diplomas with grades and a CV (incl. publications and references if available) to Professor Katrin F. Domke.
