Development of multifunctional coatings having solar-reflective, hydrophobic and anti-bacterial properties.
Emre Yavuz studied chemistry at the Akdeniz University, Antalya (Turkey), and received his Master degree in 2016. His main topic wasthe design of long-term effective transparent superhydrophilic coatings. During his studies he worked at the sol-gel laboratories of Prof. Ertugrul Arpac, gaining experience on durable functional coatings for industrial applications. Soon after, he moved to the Institute of Biomaterials, Erlangen (Germany) as a researcher, where he focused on bioactive composite scaffolds for bone tissue engineering. In 2017 he started his PhD in Antalya aiming to develop multifunctional thermal insulating materials. Supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey be started working in MPIP in June 2021.
