Tobias Weidner has published a paper about a nanometer thin ordered lipid layer at the surface of snake scales. Ordered lipids help the slithering locomotion of snakes. The article, which was a collaboration with researchers at Oregon State University, the University of Kiel and NIST, was accepted for publication in Journal of the Royal Society Interface.
